Vog a hazard to health
Vog a hazard to health
With so many early deaths reported in the obituaries section of West Hawaii Today, many wonder if it is related in any way to the question of vog. As of 2007, 120 metric tons of sulfuric acid was produced by Halemaumau for that given year. Some say that rate has doubled as of late, which is really scary.
Added to that, when lava flows into the ocean in Kalapana, another deadly gas in hydrochloric acid is produced. Many wonder if that fact is related to the ever increasing rates of vog on the Big Island.
I’m no expert in geology, but, from my own neighborhood experience with vog, I would say it is a deadly killer. Just by looking at the obituaries sections of local papers on the Big Island and their affiliated locations, simple conclusions can be told. Vog is definitely a deadly killer.

Columns need more balance
Tim Egan, George Will, E.J. Dionne, Margu Lies and Jake Jacobs all seem to have been carrying the torch for liberal change.
Change has come but not to their liking. From giants of liberal reform to ankle biting lap dogs supported by your unbiased and fair reporting of the events unfolding. A subsidiary of Black Press is a name fitting for your willingness to support all the bashing and hate.
Change has come to make America great again. You have a responsibility to be a fair media for all, not just who you pander to.
